From Tuva, a small Russian province,
Chirgilchin
richly creates this
ancient vocal tradition in which one singer produces two or
more voices simultaneously. The four-member ensemble also plays
hand-made
instruments.

INDIAN EPIC

Balinese music and dance by Gamelan Burat Wangi
Twenty-five gamelan players and 14 dancers enact scenes from
a Balinese adaptation of this ancient Hindu epic brought to
Bali from India more than a millennium ago. Directed and
choreographed by the distinguished duo of I Nyoman Wenten
and Nanik Wenten.
